Equinox

Well, the Autumn equinox will soon be upon us. Unlike the meteorological seasons the astronomical season of Autumn will begin this year on Sunday September 23rd at 2.54 a.m. (BST). Day and night will be in perfect balance – like the scales of Libra. A time to weigh up what we have done and achieved so far this year, and how to invest our energies in the coming shorter days.

World’s most common zodiac sign

When giving information about the effects of Sun and Moon it’s important to remember that this can’t possibly be absolutely true for the 12th of the population born under any specific sign. In order to give personal future trends an astrologer needs to cast the individual’s chart and interpret the celestial influences on that person. Therefore information given in blogs and magazines etc. has to be rather generalised. Speaking of 12th of the population – the signs are not equally distributed amongst the world population. Apparently Virgo is the most common zodiac sign in the world and Aquarius the least common. The website Quora explains further saying that the majority of the world’s population is in the Northern hemisphere where there are cold winters and that Christmas and New Year celebrations/liaisons result in more Virgo babies being born.

Coming up

At the time of the Equinox, the moon is in Pisces so those born under this sign will find it a rewarding time. Those born under the opposite sign of Virgo may find the Equinox more challenging

This is the harvest time – on several levels. Time to reap what we have sown in earlier seasons. If we have spread negativity then we may find a few chickens coming home to roost! If we have sown more positivity, now we see the benefits of this.

We are moving into the season ruled over by Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius. These houses (7th, 8th and 9th) move outwards – looking at self expansion.

Libra rules over partnerships (of all kinds) and excels at diplomacy and communication. The Moon is also in Libra from 8th to 10th October so it may be good to address such issues at this time. (These will be positive days for those born under the sign of Libra.) Remember though that Libra can often see both sides of an argument and don’t like to offend, (sometimes through a fear of being disliked) so be fair and assertive. Libra, the scales of justice loves harmony and balance.

Druid

I chose to celebrate the Equinox a little early when invited to my sister in law’s fancy dress birthday party this weekend. She always has a fancy dress theme and this was ‘Tropical and Tribal’. There was a sea of Hawaii shirts, a couple of really fabulous Navi/ Avatars and the lady herself was a magnificent pink flamingo! But! There was only one Druid – guess who? The outfit had to be put together with what I had in the flat due to finances but I think I did rather well. Tribal and fitting for an Astrologer.

I wish you all a bountiful harvest for both the Equinox and Autumn season.
